If you read our last blog on how to exfoliate properly around your eyes, your next questions might be, “Should I use eye CREAM or eye GEL? Which one is best for my skin type?”
There are 3 types of products you can use around the Ocular area depending on your skin type:
- Combination of Cream & Gel
EYE CREAMS are best for:
- Dry/dehydrated skin
- Thin skin
- Aging skin
- Prematurely-aging skin
EYE GELS are best for:
- Oily skin
- Breakout-prone skin
- People who tend to form Milia (small bumps of hardened sebum on the eyelids or just under the eyes)
COMBINATION EYE CREAM/GEL
This type of eye product is a combination of the two, which is a lighter cream with a higher water content. If you have a mixture of skin types that don’t completely fall under CREAM or GEL, this may be a great alternative for you.
TIP: Eye creams and gels have a higher concentration of anti-aging agents, lightening and brightening agents, etc. and need 5-10 minutes to FULLY absorb before going to the next step in your skincare routine. Get the most out of your products and be careful not to dilute their effects by applying toners or other products too quickly.
